i dont know what to do next im running out of mods lol.. that car looks hot....... only thing i could possibly see for improvement is remove the badge from the bonnet and place it in the grille. The 2 badge look for the front looks a bit funny, but other than that its a very sweet ride and a real credit to you |

ok
here is my latest mod in progress. i aquired a pair of siera cosworth vents. i gave them a few coats of undercoat and a light coat of gold to match the bonnet.. hopefully we will have some sun light tomorrow so i can finish the paint off.. then the scary part is having to cut the bonnet out to fit them here are a few pics of then just sitting on the bonnet.. The vents will look great... but you really should store that bonnet and get an EB one cut and painted up.
Also wheres the ef/el fuel flap doco? :p |

ok this is how to put metal ef door flap onto a ea/ed.this was done a few months back but i havnt fitted it as the paint i had didnt match.. to do this you must have the remote fuel door release.. first you need the plastic ea fuel flap to get the hinge from. you can do this by prying the plastic near the hinge which pretty much breaks the plastic. see pic 1.. and you can then pull the hinge out. then you need the ef fuel door and you need to open the rolled metal where the ef hinge pin sits with a screw driver to remove the hinge pin.. see pic 2..(i lost the original pic so i re used the after pic) the ea hinge removed see pic 3 once the pin is removed you now can fit the body side of the hinge from the ea into the ef fuel door by pushing the lower side of the hinge into the lower part first and then push the top into the part that has been open with the screw driver i had to fit a small washer to the top of the hinge to shim the door up for good alignment on the hinge and close the metal around the pin with long nose pliers.see pic 4.. once this is done you need to straighten out the latch a bit and you also need to re drill a hole for the remote release pin..see pic 5 there may be a bit of adjusting to get it to fit right and latch properly.. there are a few others that i know have done the same mod with slightly different methods but still got the same results.. Nice work Troyman.
The vents look great and will suit the car nicely. And thanks for doing the doco on the fuel flap mod. Save me from having to do it now, phew! Cheers BenJ

ok i got busy this afternoon on the cosworth vents and made a template and measured and marked the spots to cut.

Hey Troyman
I think these vents will really work well with your car and the overall theme. I still say you should mod the airbox lid top to let some cool air in. BenJ

you got me thinking now ben.
i may mod a spare lid to see what happens.. i was just thinking even with the vent louvers on the vent facing rearward it mite be benificial as i have my custom home made cai catching air from underneath and flowing into the bottom of the airbox and what the engine doesnt suck in will flow out the top of the vent keeping a constant cool airflow? |
