If it is an EL XR6 or EL Fairmont Ghia ECU which have the tickford maps and the auto change maps for the 3.45 gears, then yes, a bit. It will have a slight hesitation between 1500 to 3000rpm due to the mistmatch of the BBM tune to the Log manifold, but will work well. And if you add the 300kpa fuel pressure reg, and have a the exhaust done and intake mods, you will get small gains in overall driveablility.

I don't see any real benefit installing the EL Gli ECU without the BBM.

You could try it and see what you think. It will plug straight in.

put the el ecu in and set your base timing to approx 15 degrees, it will make a noticable difference even without the bbm

you will need a timing light etc, and bridge two pins on the diagnostic connector
