I don't understand the problem you're having, as you haven't given a lot of detail about your problem. There are two files you can download, can you download either?

You are supposed to right click on the .inf file in your browser, and save it to your desktop. It sounds like you have done this. When prompted for a driver by your computer on inserting the USB cable (or using device manager), you choose the directory where you saved the file. At no point does the guide say to right click on the file and choose Install.

It's the same as any driver would be installed on Windows, and it's laid out step by step in the Installation Guide. The actual tuning is a lot harder than this!

Cheers,
Jason

PS: Windows 7 is supported.

thanks for the help. finally got it sorted. not sure what the problem was, it just wouldnt install via the right click install. i ended up using google to manually install the file. i was pulling my hair out by the end. it just gave me the message that it cant install that way. no idea what caused it but i downloaded the file 6 times... but the file does work but simply had to manually install it (well seems simple now)

Just uploaded a bunch of updated tech docs, including updated installation and tuning guides (should be more self-explanatory huggiebear!). Check them out! http://www.tiperformance.com.au/documents.html

Galapogos01 I was just wondering, I have problems with low reving and idling with the 1521a Wade cam ( which everyone knows ), I know that T.I performance says that its J3 can fix this, I was just wondering if this would be a 'bandaid' solution?

How would retuning the ecu be a band aid?

I have run a 1521a in my car for over 5 years now - 2 of them supercharged. All of them have been with a J3 Chip.

Its a fact that MAP based ecus are affected by cam changes (as they are based on vacuum) and need to be recalibrated as a result -- whether its done with one of our chips or not, it's certainly not a band aid! Its the right thing to do :-)

Cheers,
Jason

I just wanted to make sure :) Would I need a custom or do you have a pre-programed chip for the 1521a? Also, do T.I offer a special price for Fordmods members?

Hey mate,

A 1521a would need a Custom Pre-Programmed Chip. I'll also need more info about the rest of the combo, what model your car is and what transmission and fuel type you run. Shoot me a PM.

I offer the same low prices to all forums (try getting a price on competing chips!), but at the moment I'm offering a 10% discount to anyone who Circles or +1's us on Google+. Just let me know when you order!

Cheers,
Jason

finished putting an AU v8 motor and manual gearbox, have a j3 that is programmed for 24 pound injectors, no EGR and manual. Car is an NL.
Problem I now have is still getting error 327 (EGR low voltage)
Fans running constantly
poor idle and runnning.

I have checked the J3 connector, all checks out good. TPS 0.9v, a little high but ok. ECT sensor working, temp gauge working.

any ideas, really want to know fans running constantly.

Quick question.

If I have done a Manual Conversion and have done the resistor tricks so the EL Ghia Auto ECU behaves, do I have to undo anything so the J3 Chip will work?

This is in my EB Ghia Wagon, and I am using a smartlock bypass module.

I have inserted the chip but the engine will crank only. Fuel works but no spark.

I have re cleaned the port and have had the same result with two different ECUs.

Any suggestions?

Cheers
BenJ

Something else at play here Ben. No, you don't need to remove the resistors or smartlock bypass, but neither is required any more. Need some more info -- Who burnt your chip (I don't have your forum name on file and you didn't say whether you purchased one through me)? What tune did they use? Is Smartlock disabled in the tune? If not, is your Smartlock bypass working?

You'd have to ring them for a price, but most dyno shops charge somewhere between $500 and $1000 depending on how much time is involved.
