I'm trying to work out the best/cheapest way to modify the EF so it puts out the same as a twin turbo supra (208kw).

So will standard sort of stuff, nice big extractors, new cams, exhaust and a bigger intake be enough to pull it off??

208kw would probly be 140-150rwkw for an E-series falcon, yeah Full exhaust system, good CAI, good cam and maybe a tune it should pull that.

engine or wheels is the question?

im guessing you mean engine so cam, exhaust/headers, tune should put you close as depending on bottom end health.

might need to raise the comp just slightly to help things along.

Knock the plural off cams, add headwork by someone reputable and a decent tune and you'll get it.
Supra will still be quicker though.

ditto...you're gonna need a f**k more torque/4.11's to beat a supra, even n/a they're pretty quick (14.9 for a quarter v 16 or so for a falcon with 3.08)

135rwkw (with the right torque curve to go with it) should see you crack 14.9

just the basic mods: exhaust, extractors, intake, 3.45 diff gears, and a QUALITY cam grind will easily get you over the line

if you have an auto, then good luck

NA supras are not quick, i raced one not long ago and it ran a 15.4

Gezza200 You either talk a lot of crap or have one of those freak Fords that just seem to go really hard for no real reason. A stock supra will murder an EL Ford all day long unless A. The supra was stuffed, B. He wasnt trying C. He cant drive.

is your car stock? my mate had one and stock for stock it would rape my auto el. With an exhaust, tune and diff change it pulls low 14's.

is the falcon or the supra pulling the low 14s?

ill back up Gezza200, NA they are slow.ive raced against on 3 time i one night, all mid 15s, destroyed it by at least a second each time, i think you are giving them too much credit...
but in saying that im not sure how quick the turbo models are...

208 turbo kw beats 208 N/A kw.

Gezza, what does your car run down the quarter, you talk it up like it's a monster.

the supra, with diff change, exhaust and a tune pulled a 14.2....I'm not saying a falcon couldnt do this, but you would need more engine work.

If your goal is to beat a stock supra, then the easiest way will be 3.9 or 4.11's, exhaust and cam.

edit: haha i just read he is talking about beating twin turbo supra's. I thought these pulled 14's or just under stock? If that is what you want to achieve plan for a rebuild with 9.5 or so compression, headwork to suit torque production mainly 3000-6000rpm and a cam to suit. With manual get 3.7 gears, or with auto a highstall and 4.11's.

Grechie I'm pretty sure got 13.7 with stock head but 9.5 compression, 1673 cam, t5 and 3.7 diff gears, but i think his car is a bit of a freak (plus weighs less than an ef).

plus if he has a turbo supra all he has to do is up the boost and he should run low 13's easy, those engines are tough as

Decent condition JZA80 2JZGTE Supra will do 13s off the bat.
They don't even have to run more boost to go quicker, just run the stock turbos parallel.
