Hi all,
i've just been through the members gallery looking for anyone who has fitted a shaker to a BA/BF. i was disapppointed not to have found any :( has anyone done this mod to a 6, and is it possible to fit an xr8 bonnet to a 6 with a shaker and get the "V8 SHAKER" look :?: how hard would this be???

It has been done before, no doubt about that. Won't be cheap though..

You should be able to find an aftermarket fibreglass bonnet with the XR8 bulge to suit from a place like Fibre Sports - {DESCRIPTION}.

For the shaker setup, check the following link.. There's some pictures of the shaker on a few 6's under the gallery link

I have access to a xr8 bonnet- no worries...and can get a shaker kit for about $400. but want to get the authentic look of the shaker with the v8 bonnet..it may be a little difficult because of the relative head to bonnet height of the 6 and the 8. I dont want to stick to shaker on the standard 6 bonnet because i reckon it looks like a stick on air scoop that wannabe's put on there car....And i know i probably am a wanna be with a V8 accessory on a 6 cylinder, but a least its a FORD !!!

Shaker kits are available for the XR6's with Std bonnets.

I am aware of this... but they look like a stick on accessory - not a performance mod.

Hi guy's new to the forum and was doing some reading and came across this thread. I was the first person to build a performance mod using the shaker scoop as the CIA I have posted some pics of my old ute so you can see what I had done

I also had different setups made that used the factory air box

The post was about a shaker kit for a I6 if I'm not mistaken not a V8 he may have been the first for a V8 but I was the first to build an intake for the I6 turbo engine

cheers

Thanks Bear,

I was going to make it a kit had moulds made and everything cost was the biggest killer as I cannot weld aluminium so had to pay for fabrication of alloy parts etc the induction sound was awesome under full throttle and it definitely made the engine more responsive

looks really good, the only thing i would say is that that round air box on top of the turbo will get unbeleivably hot, is it insulated?

s**t yeah I like the look of this. Functional on the Turbo 6 is a big win in my books.

Um... I don't think that's functional by the looks of things.

cabbi... you look at all the pics mate? Definately sits on top of an intake that feeds down. You notice the pic where the airbox is gone?

is the shaker central to the bonnet? or offset to the turbo side?
