I did an oil change today on my EL Futura (6cyl) and afterwards I was having a poke around under the bonnet with the engine running and noticed that the outer hemisphere of the harmonic balancer wobbles slighty... I went to take a video of it but the harmonic balancer doesn't seem to wobble at all in the video (as if the frame rate of the camera isn't fast enough to capture the wobble)

Is it acceptable for a harmonic balancer to have even the slightest of wobbles?
Car has 121,000km if that helps...

also wondering how expensive it is to have it replaced? and how difficult it would be to do it myself? (if required)

thanks, Shane.

i dont think they are supposed to wobble at all  :? .

either way easy to replace.
just one big bolt in the middle and a 3-point puller and off she comes.

Wobble usually indicates perished rubbers, mine wobbled for about three months, then one day was overtaking and heard a metallic noise under the hood & it was in two pieces
