Hey all, needing some advice, I got pulled over today for a rbt.. Anyway the cop looked over the car and told me that the 18s i have on my car are illegal as the tire placard is 15inch and im only allowed to upgrade to 17s no bigger. but he said i can get an engineers certificate. so im wondering if anyone knows how much they are? where to get it and does anyone on here can get them cheap in the riverina area like wagga wagga or canberra or even albury?. thanks guys

did you advise that 16's were the option and unless optioned did not appear on the tyre placard?
Otherwise, put your stockies back on until you can get it looked at by an engineer, any engineer worth a grain of salt will be aware of this, alternately find an EF xr placard that lists the 16" option.

instead of taking it up the a*** like he wants you to, how about you research your NSW regulations about this imaginary rule
here in QLD according to the QT website you can have any diameter wheel as long as you fit the correct size tyres to keep the outer rolling diameter the same as stock |

"The outside diameter of the wheel and tyre combination must be no more than 15mm over the largest diameter
wheel and tyre combination specified for the vehicle and not more than 15mm below the smallest diameter wheel and tyre combination specified for the vehicle." It's all about the outside diameter of the tyre. You could probably run 20's if you had a low enough profile tyre. You can read the detail here: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/ ... 9_rev4.pdf
