i used the VHT paint as mentioned above
because its anodized your better off attacking the rocker cover with paint stripper (its a pain in the a**), otherwise the old paint is still visible through the top coat apply a few layers of base coat after the cover has been stripped and cleaned then a few layers of top coat and it should come up pretty scmick

I had a red anodized one on my EF a while ago. Looked kinda candy-ish depending on the angle . Was done with Duplicolor metalcast groundcoat and Duplicolor Red Anodize, then a few coats of Duplicolor clear enamel.
Basically use paint stripper to remove any original coating. Sand/file back and sharp edges and make sure the surface is nice and smooth, going through a few different grades of wet and dry sandpaper to get a nice finish. Clean with wax and grease remover, and make sure you do this very well. Spray on a couple coats of primer, spray on a couple coats of top colour followed by a few coats of clear if you wish an thats about it. Pretty much follow the directions on the can and you can't go wrong. Attachment: I ended up changing to an AU rocker cover (straight swap over) and sprayed it in VHT gloss black with the lettering and fins block-sanded back to bare metal - I got over the red pretty quick lol. |
