anyone recommend a place I can get my injectors cleaned and flow tested in the Sydney region (preferably Penrith area) there were so many I remember seeing around but it looks like most of them have died out.
not interest in ‘buying new ones’ or a ‘DIY kit’. Thanks peoples!

If you can pull the injectors out yourself take them up to Car Parts R Us on Russel St Emu plains.
If you just want to drop the car off and have it done Gibson Autosport Coreen Ave Penrith. As far as cleaning injectors being a waste of time..............pffft.

Well based on info that your "Mechanic" told you, I think its time to change mechanics. If done properly they are stripped down, new filter baskets fitted along with new O rings etc and cleaned. I have seen AU injectors just spitting out one hole and after they are clened nice good flow from all 4 holes. Worth the effort. Mind you getting injectors cleaned can cost up to $30 per injector so if you can buy new for that why waste your time. I have seen AU injectors, Reconditioned, for $120 or so a set. Cleaning is well worth the effort.

The thing is I purchased the car with the injectors not fitted annd they the ones used to tune it to it's peak performance. They don't have any stamps or numbers on them hence why I dont want to change them as I don't know what they are.
Thanks again guys

I was only going on what I was told I had a car at work a few months ago that had a misfire at idle and occasional miss at high rpm. The high RPM miss was enough to bring the check engine light on. After going through the normal checks, it was eventually found to be a partially blocked injector. This was found when I pulled the injectors and flow tested them on a suppliers injector bench. The flow was down at about %75. These injectors were then cleaned in a sonic bath and retested, once the flow was in spec they went back in the car and the misfire was gone. After talking the problem over with a few people I know it was found to be a problem with that build of car. the PCV system dumps most of the crap back through that one intake runner. When cheap/incorrect spec oil is used the oil vapour settles on the injector tip and blocks it up. |

Partially blocked injectors will cause issues with the car...no/less fuel = poor performance even in a stock car.

Yeah quite possibly mate, what are the tell tale signs that your injectors are under performing? I dont think mine have an issue but then again I might not know what i am missing out on lol CheerS Phil
