hi guys have decided to definitely go ahead and s.charge or turbo my xr6 just need some help with possible outcomes/ peoples experience getting this done. Also who offers these services on Brisbane north side. I am more leaning towards intercooled centrifugal supercharger like intune offers on the ba bf but cant find anyone on the net that offer this service in Brisbane. Any help would be great guys i dont know any reputable workshops in bris yet.

I know that if you go the supercharged way it will be cheaper. You basically bolt on and get a tune. With a turbo your going to have to replace a bit of parts and add a few parts like an intercooler, tune, better air intake, lower you engine compression etc. Dont hold me to it but thats what ive heard.

Superchargers cost less and consume less time over the medium longer term.
Get a self oiled supercharger, get it done properly (12psi plumback), make it so you dont get caught (noises, dumb stickers) and you will have a ball. Design it as if you still want it running well in six years

Buy a complete XR6 turbo motor for $5k and drop it in. Have your local tuner tune it.
It will cost less and make more power and give you scope for more power later on. There are a few FG ones on ebay at the moment. |

thanks for the info guys pretty keen to have something different but god the turbo is attractive. My reason for not wanting to trade just yet is that i have done the sound system, installed gauges, lowered it, installed full ss induction kit growler plus big mouth air dam painted the wheels all the usual bits to make it feel like mine you know just started to feel like my car and not just a car lol. And yep i would be getting it done legally.

It would be less work to put everything you have done into a turbo car rather than turbo your own car.

Just do a trade in and have ford just swap over your mods to the new car. Its not like you've done any major engine mods.

Obie89 Bullet Cars at Yatala! Get a Rotrex! cheers mate spoke to Greg there today actually got a quite reasonable price of 8k for a dry system all fitted up. Glad you told me about this business mate had actually never heard of them. Much appreciated, the rotrex s.c sounds a far more superior product over the vortech. Have you had much experience with the rotrex?
