im wondering if in a ba/bf/fg with premium if the amp only powers the parcel shelf sub or if it runs any of the speakers? whats the rms and how many channels on the amp? i happen to have a sony 2 channel 250 watt amp here, if its only running the parcel shelf sub, how would it go if i replaced the ford amp with the sony? would i need to replace the sub? i dont want to have eye popping bass, just want to add a little extra to whats already in the car. any idea where the amp is in an fg g6e?

Amp on a B-series is behind the passenger side trim, at the top of the boot opening. You will be able to see a rectangle indent in the trim, its right behind that.

The amp only runs the sub.

No idea on location for the FG.

But if its anything like a B-series, there are no trigger wires for this amp. It seems to get turned on by some sort of serial data via one of the wires. So you'd need to work out some other way to use a new amp and turn it on.
