Im looking at doing this also, Just the front seats. I imagine the rears could be abit of a problem but the front seats should fit in ok. Changing the rails of course. I asked at ford for a price on the seats and the bloke told me over a grand just for one front seat ( he had a big smirk on his face)

:?

good luck, let us know how u go

I've done this conversion for a friend and am in the process of it for myself. Its a big job. You remove the legs from your origionals and weld them to the BA seating frame. The rear leg nearest to the console is a good reference point as it becomes a tight fit onto the BA frame. The brackets on the XR frame are welded and will obviously have to be ground off first. As for the rear seats, I can put you onto a good trimmer in the Campbelltown area to match up your origionals to your fronts. I think refitting BA rears to an E-series would be a royal pain in the a***.

Make a timber template that lines up with the seat anchor stubs before attemping the job. It's easy enough to line up the inside legs to the frame without pre-fitting. Install all the legs to the vehicle, align and clamp the outside legs to the frame. Remove, tack weld and re-inspect.

Considering the difficulties involved, a wise man would leave the job 'tacked in place' and farm off the remainder to a qualified Mig welder who can certify the job on completion.

ok i had a look on ebay and there are a couple of BA seat 'covers' for not too much coin... would it be possible to adapt these to the EL seats without too much hassel, maybe some extra bolstering etc?

i can get BA seat covers anyday, my work throws them out all the time, and you can put foam in the seats and stuff to try fit the covers, but it would be a big job.

Can you get leather xr Seat covers???

As mspw said its a bit of a job doing teh fronts but the back seats would be a mission and a half. we put a ba seat into an el to trial fit and 2 of teh mounts lined up but the back 2 didnt

Also we have a complete leather ba interior here from an xr for $2000

Nick for under $2k you can get your own interior redone in custom leather with whatever stitching, centred suede or whatever! so i mean i guess its much of a muchness.

if oen was to get theres releathed/trimmed it'd be wise to get extra upholster bits to bucket scoop there seat if not an xr seat!

also, that sickns interior, eek! can someone say a little TOO RED?!
