i have decided to make a new topic, the "fritzz turbo el" thread was to long.

i am now in the process of getting parts together for my new engine/setup

heres what i have got so far.

pistons+rings, main girdle, main stud kit

1500hp Howards con rods

i have also ordered on of these, along with 6x mercury coils :D

all of these engine parts will be going into a au 4L.

i can now send the engine parts away to get machined and balanced.

this will be a slow buildup over a few months

600+ rwhp is what i would like,

rods were a bit over 1k the pistons were a bit under 1.5k

the main girdle is from atomic performance, it off shelf item.

will also be making a bigger exhaust and mabye get a better intercooler.

its very good to see a couple of turbo cars that have been round for a while getting some upgrades.. a lot of people lose interest mid-build or soon after and end up selling.

can i borrow the rods an pistons until your ready to use them?? ill give them a good home and look after them, let me know before wednesday, as my pistons will probably be turned into ashtrays sometime on wed.... LOL..

Its a good rod choice i think, bit of an old school name, something you dont see everyday, or hear of often...

whats that weight of those rods, compared the plethora of easy to get H beams?

the only thing i don't like (just from the pics mind you) is that they have machined the name into the rod, it just seems a waste put all that potential stress raiser on there, for no real reason

the howard rods weigh 648grm

the atomic rods are around the same but are much more expensive.
the argo rods are a little cheaper but weigh around 680grm

And what brand pistons did you get?

I'll challenge ya at the next dyno comp

i have all the parts to assemble the new engine but the machining needs to be done, witch will hopefully be early next year.

im pretty confident the current setup(stock bottom end and dev5 topend) will make close to 500rwkw on bp98.

the current turbo (garrett to4z) has died. so a new 1 is on the way, its a Billet turbos turbo built in qld. its called "SB70-GTQ" it is big enough to flow over 900hp. http://www.billetturbochargers.com/

just before the to4z died i had noticed the cat was blocked badly so i have also removed that witch made a huge difference to power.
