hey guys, i drive mums AU TE50 sometimes and have found that it is really sluggish down low, like really bad (only sometimes/rarely spins em off the line). the motor was rebuilt (standard specs) and i think and hope that it is still on the run in tune because it used to perform much better than this before it was rebuilt. once its moving its alright, but i think that there is more in her thats not coming out. can someone recommend anyone in sth eastern suburbs in melb that i can take her to, to get a tune?? thanx

try different fuel. it might be that the compression has increased and it will run heaps better on 98 octane. try it with a full tank of premium before you take it to somewhere

always run mobil premium. anything else i can try?

reset the ecu. there is a doco on here somewhere on how to do it.

maybe it was not the engine that had to be fixed (as you said that it ran better before it was rebuilt)
maybe blocked exhaust sytem?? as for fuel, i recommend BP ULITMATE

the motor had a bad knocking noise from the bottom end. we got to it b4 it f**k itself...ill try different fuel and reset that ecu and see how that goes. thanx guys.

when you say rebuilt to standard specs you mean tickford te-50 specs dont you? What actually was done to the engine?
was the cam changed? get detailed work that was done and take it to a good dyno man and they will tell you exactly whats happening.

yea it was rebuilt to te50 specs. Maf's the plug on the intake correct? havnt played with many v8's before. thanx

the maf is bolted directly to the top part of the air intake box and the plug is located on the side closes to the engine 4 wire plug. if it isnt plugged in it will not idle correctly and guzzle fuel as well.

wonder if they degreed the cam in.... ,or didnt line up the cam synchroniser properly......as said dyno will prove it

thanx for the reply's guys....i know most of you arent in vic but is there anyone here than can recommend anywhere to take it??? should i look for someone who specializes in v8's or just take it anywhere to get it dynoed? thanx

I'd say the cam sensor is out giving you some retardation. A common drama with AU windsors. Ford have the know how here assuming this is the problem.
