yeh its a K&N pod, not sure what size though, from what i was told it was specially ordered to fit the standard airbox

the hole on the side of the airbox has been filled and a new one has been made at the front of the box. The pod has then been attatched to a EA intake tube, which joins up with the stock EB-ED tube (as seen in pics)

Hi Troy. Can you please tell a poor NZ cousin why you Aussie lot have to put a box around your pod filters as your nice example shows?! Is it purely for sound? Surely the law makers aren't worried about you sucking in hot engine bay air and are forcing you to keep your intake temps down?!!!

acording to the engineer, he called it an acoustic shroud on the engineer report..
i assume its for noise reduction???

from a performance aspect i have kept it on to help with keeping the hot air away from the intake..

yes and no!!
the box is mounted to the supercharger and moves up and down with the engine,
but due to breaking the engine mount the whole intake and box has been hitting the bonnet on hard take offs...lol

Mate - I doubt the Government would legislate to MAKE you have cold air induction! But, as Troyman just said, having an "acoustic shroud" does make some (if little) sense to the powers that be.

Cold air for the win indeed... Have spent many a happy hour researching and creating the cold air win already.

Cheers.
