hey guys just a tad bored so thought might do a build thread.

We got the AU in 2003 when my older brother was learning to drive, wanting a manual mum brought this AU, factory 5sp.

my other brother also learnt to drive in it and me being the last i got it.

was stock then other then a set of 17in AMG wheels...oh how things change.

1st mod was the exhaust as the old one broke off when we were attempted to cut out the ressy and weld a pipe in there, got a red back 2.5 cat back 1 muffler and hotdog ressy, at the same time put some lukey extractors...people say there rubbish, but they sounded mean also had a ba xr6t snorkle

got dyno'd at 117rwkw at this point with needing a service...prob silly idea to get it when i did :P

stayed like this for a while and then saw a set of 20" wheels on ebay cheap as so i got them and put them on and looked like this

any after to many safari snorkle jokes i lowered it with supers in the rear and ultras up front but still sits a tad lower in the bum :( how it looks there.

i had heaps of trouble with the bush falling out from the selector cup in the shifter so it gave me the excuse to purchase a monza billit short shift....there great!!!!

next was the addition of the extractors shown in show us your pipes for those who havent seem them

now sitting on the 17s again waiting for me to get off my bum and paint them with DNA paints.
i have a vct head that im going to get ported and polished with a stage 3 cms cam stuck between the rockers.

any coments welcome or ideas.

have been installing 2 aftermarket gauges infront the shifter, the oil pressure and oil temp.

being a right royal pain, the pressure gauge drops to 0 with the lights on and the temp doesnt work when the car is started but turn it right off and turn it back on acc it works, sits on about 55deg.

these days the car is running roof racks as i love kayaking but they dont fit in the boot :P
will be romoved in the winter as the water is way to cold which sucks.

comments welcome. also gippy members should start a regular cruise

Try earthing the gauges on the motor near the sensors.

is it the oil presure gauge?, a mate had the same problem with the ones we put in his vl, had to get a new gauge, if not just double check your wiring, always helps.

cheers,
Tomo

the power runs off the the ciggy lighter and i can get both gauges to work, oil pressure with car on and no lights on, oil temp with car turned right off then onto acc and it works.

whats got me stumped is they work sometimes and not others
