A little update, the new seats are great, a lot more comfortable in hot and cold weather than than the whole leather ones

BOGE lowered shockers and Eibach Pro-kit springs are on there way, $255 delivered for the springs from {DESCRIPTION} and $345 from {DESCRIPTION} for the shocks delivered

Booked in on 7th to get them fitted, upper ball joints replaced and a 225,000km service.

it should hopefully be a bit nicer to cruise in, the only ultra low king springs wrecked my tickford shocks so its a pretty harsh ride atm...

the suspension setups is the same as blueoval from aff, this is a pic of the hight not long after he fitted them

New shocks and spring in the rear,
i might do the front tomorrow.

Very impressed so far, as you can see its sitting around 2cm lower than the pedders lows in the rear, and its also a lot nicer cruising over crappy roads around here and thats with only the rears..

Cheers Cam

All done :-)

Pretty happy with the results, lower and feel alot less of the road, a little more body roll but its still pretty settled around corners

After nearly 3 years as the misses daily the AU is retiring back to weekend/shed duties...

2012 Nissan X-Trail T31 Series 5 arriving in the next few weeks.
- 2WD ST (base model)
- 2.0l 4cyl. petrol with 6 speed manual (same engine as the dualis)
- in Burning Red
- Optioned with Towbar and Reversing sensors
- Standard 17" alloys, LED tail lights, bluetooth and cruise.

Picked the xtrail because of the value (size to price) we drove the sportage and ix35 but they weren't budging on price and both ended up over 30k with a few options (ix35 didnt even have alloys) and i didn't expect it but the xtrail is also a lot better to drive than the koreans even with 20kw less.

Back to the AU, im most looking forward taking the car seat out and getting all of the misses s**t out of it. we all know what women are like...

So the question is what to do with it?
i know most people will say 5 or 5.6l windsor but.
Im leaning towards a barra 190 with a 6 speed manual (or auto) from a BF xr6 or simular. i think i could fit it myself with a bit of time and slowly upgrade over time.

I've also got a few ideas for the dash,
1. I want to fit rotary knobs to the climate control to replace the temp and fan butons.
2. Id also like to fit a small android tablet in the dash as a touch screen music player/gps and just use the alpine headunit as a receiver.
iv just got a htc one x and this gave me the idea

Cheers Cam

fourI6 where does this project start ? , as I've stripped my AU2fairghia and am looking to put it into a AU3 forte, does it start with the ecu and bcm ? and ignition ? as there seems to be a lot of wiring that needs to be transplanted, you've done it in steps so ? I was just thinking strip au to bones and wires, strip forte, and go from there LOL cheers, nice thread I hope this can help me along the way, also got the VCT and a 3.45 LSD I cant find if forte S3 is live or IRS. cheers, all merry christmas.

yeah looking at the car tomorrow, read the 3.45 lsd can fit in to the live axle housing, or if I can just bolt the whole rear suspension up? read you can if it's a series 2 3. Bit sad cost to repair is more than buying another body hahaha. More time than money i guess, slapped a tree and it bounced off both tyres bending power steering and sway bar mounts, then rear door then dog leg, and rear tyre so fixing would be more than a second hand series 2 3. Should be fun though,. just going to break them down and transfer everything as it goes, sounds the easiest way. Cheers!! :D
