Hi

Does anyone out there know what signals the el climate control unit uses to run. Where it gets signal from etc is it controlled by ecu or bcm etc. Any help would be greatlyn appreciated.

Thanks mate. I have installed a BA motor in my NL Fairlane and want to try and get the climate control working.

Steve, BenJ has the same hassle.
Temp is via the databus - may include engine load, etc too, also gets A/C on/off voltage also.

Yeah, the databus is the biggie. Be interesting to know the differences between the EB/ED & EF/EL CC units - the earlier ones don't have the databus, all same sensors though.

No - the EA/B/D falcons all had a temp. Sensor on the thermostat housing - so they didnt need the Databus. I was about to suggest that you consider swapping to an EB style one. The other difference on the EA/B/D ones was that the sniffer motor is seperate, and not part of the CC Unit.

Personally I like them better (the black face ones) - but hey. Im gettin' old.

Sniffer motor is the inside air temp sensor - EB/ED have it up near the rear demist button, EF/EL is in the bottom of the CC unit. They both have a vaccuum connection to them to draw air past them.

Yeah, my bad - one sensor for ECU, the other for CC.
