At last, I won.
I beat the Air Con. It was giving me troubles. I guess that goes hand in hand with custom, well, everything LOL. First trip in to get the A/C gassed I was advised there was no power getting to the A/C pump. OK, fair enough, with all the work I did, I was not surprised. I said I would check it out and get back to them and asked how much I owed them for their time. Don't worry about it they said. Soo, I pulled the dash half to bits, spent a couple of hours going over all my schematics, and testing various theories as to what the issue is. In the end I used a combination of three different models circuits, EB1, EB11 and EL. I duplicated the EL circuit, and ran a wire from the Climate Control Module to Pin 10 on the ECU, and added a missing pin to Pin 54, which is the trigger wire for the A/C pump. This went to a Relay that I had to install that sends 12v+ to the pressure switch, and then to the A/C pump. The EB1 seem to use a positive trigger straight from the Climate Control Module to the pressure switch and pump. EL is a negative trigger that runs via the ECU and a relay. Fun Fun Fun. Second trip I head back, and they start putting in gas, and then stop. The mechanic advised me that the A/C pump is seizing, and won't rotate. It needs replacing. Cool, I say, I have a spare at home. He says, give us a call when you want to book in again. So, the next day I swap in my spare pump. It feels nice and smooth. The other really does feel rooted. Third time lucky, yesterday, and I now have cold air. Yippeeeeee I have not had A/C working for over a year. Last summer was not fun! Seems to be working fine, and the car still drives well with it on. I also hooked up one of the thermo fans to come on with the A/C. I have to give 'Nationwide' Blacktown a big thanks. They were fabulous, genuinely interested in the mods I have done to the Wagon, and keen to help out. ******************************************************** The A/C was one of the small list of jobs I wanted to get done before I go to QLD next Thursday. Another job was to get the front Rotors Machined. While I had installed these rotors new last Christmas, they were giving me a lovely shake with any braking at all. So SWC said his local joint did rotor machining for a good price. I took him up on that and yesterday went down to his place, ripped off the rotors, and had them surfaced. It is so nice to be able to brake with a bit of confidence. I also wanted to make it easier for my Daughter, while learning to drive the stick shift. I also mounted the front park lights today. I was a bit lazy when I built the BA/EB lights, but thought that it might be a good idea to correct it seeing as I am heading off on a Road Trip. Other small jobs to do tomorrow are to fix rear number plate light (a royal PITA in a wagon) and cut off the extra thread from the U bolts over the Lowering Blocks. ******************************************************* While I was at SWC's yesterday, we did a bit trial fitting of some bits and pieces. Let me know what you think. This is a BA XT lower bar grafted to an EB top. SWC has finished the base fabrication, and we just sprayed some black over the raw fibreglass to see how it was going to blend in. This is a modified TripleM Sedan Rear bar. I found it one day on an EA Wagon at Pick N Payless. It was in three pieces. SWC decided to get it and fix it. He also filled in the default exhaust hole. There is quite a bit of work still to be done on this, but you should get the idea. Just imagine some BA side skirts to blend it all together. Lets here what you all think about the bodykit. Cheers BenJ

Hey Ben, the front bar looks great and so does the rear MMM one. In fact, that was the same bar that I had planned for mine about 4 years ago. Should look really good once you have the skirts too.
Can't go past air-con in a black car in summer hey mate Good work. Sometimes, custom wiring can be a right challenge when it comes to fixing things down the track!! |

Nice work, the BA bar looks quite good. You know what though BenJ, i think your wagon needs a dual exhaust now lol. Dual pipes, one each side, exiting the rear bar would set that rear end off nicely

Hi, the sunroof is in the Garage waiting for me to install it. Hopefully within the next six weeks or so. alfy wrote: is it just me or does the left side of the front bar not sit quite right? as in it almost looks slightly warped. apart from that though, bodykit is coming along nicely! i like I had a look back through, and I think it is an optical illusion caused by the shadow on the left side. The bar is symetrical. ***************************************************** Over the weekend I got the last couple of things done before my trip to QLD on Thursday. I fixed the blown Number Plate Light, and glued the front parkers into place. Crawled under the back with the grinder and lopped off the ends of the Ubolts of the Lowering Blocks. I also topped off the oil and power steering fluid, added new coolant, and threw in some spare radiator hoses and a serpentine belt. The Wagon is all ready to hit the road now. Cheers BenJ
