OK UPDATE TIME!!
I have now finished the Serpentine Belt Conversion on the ED Engine. You can see in the last photo how the XH Belt Tensioner really has a big kink in the top, allowing it to clear the Log Manifold. I put a new seal in the timing case, marked the correct timing mark as well as giving the Harmonic Balancer a quick coat of black paint. I also cleaned the timing case and all the parts. I sourced a new water pump and XH Belt. List of Parts Required EF-EL Water Pump EF-EL Power Steering Pump and Mounting Bracket and Bolts EF-EL Alternator and Mounting Bracket and Bolts EF-EL Black Support Bar (goes from top Alternator Bolt to bottom Pwr Steer bracket Bolt) EF-EL Harmonic Balancer EF-EL A/C Pump XH Ute Belt Tensioner OR Use EF-EL A/C Pump spacers, cut them in half and use the EF-EL Tensioner May need different bolts etc for pump mount and will need a special length belt. EF-EL Radiator and Lower Radiator Hose (Hose diametre is different on the Water Pump) Recommend using EF-EL Upper thermostat housing and Upper radiator Hose You MUST have done or do the Thermo Fan Conversion. I worthy upgrade IMO. Next step is to remove the auto and flex plate so I can install a new rear main seal, before the flywheel goes on. I have made a good start on the LPG wiring and should have it done soon. Cheers BenJ

Actually, there doesn't appear to be a doco on the Serp Conversion. I can assist you though mate.
I may have to do one. BenJ

Don't know about Aussie, but a mate just bought a mint example of one of these - in a nice colour, almost looked like a respray the paint was so good - $2,500 NZ with a little over $100,000 of always garaged KM's on it.
I reckon that's not bad! Nice lazy 8.... |

Me Again!!!!!
I have finally finished the LPG Wiring. This is what it looked like when I got the Wagon. There were no relays installed to disable the injectors or the fuel pump, and no relays to switch the Oxy sensor or the fuel guage between LPG or petrol. And the worst thing was the Safety Switch had been bypassed. All a bit of a mess really, to put it politely. I was able to get a hold of a good LPG wiring diagram and with a bit of thought and planning, was able to design a system that when switched to LPG would disable the petrol functions, but if LPG is not selected or fails, the car would default to run on petrol. This is the end result. This will be installed in the cavity behind the ECU on the passengers side. All wiring intercepts will be made at the ECU or in the cabin area. Only 4 wires will need to go into the engine bay for the LPG to work. I am keen to see if it all works LOL And on another subject, this afternoon after work I got all energetic and pulled the dash out of the Wagon. The heater box has now been removed, and will be replaced by an EB11 setup, which will work with the the EL A/C pump and related pipework. The manual pedal box will also go in at this stage. Hopefully the dash will be back in its rightful place tomorrow afternoon. Cheers BenJ

Yep, sure is. In fact there are a couple.
Doesn't matter though as it won't be in there all that long. BenJ

That wiring will be much nicer when it's refit, and a heap neater as well. Just make sure you draw up a diagram before you fit it, incase you have to t/s it somewhere down the track.
The serp belt setup looks good man. It's something i should probably think about doing, so i can correctly setup a 110amp alternator i have, instead of modifying it to fit my old 3 belt setup. But i don't really have the time to do the conversion. Too many other projects that need attention. The pic of the dash out, man, been there & done that many times before! Much fun isn't it? I think i had the dash in & out 3 or 4 times for the manual install, then again twice to fixup my aircon & heater. I had to fit new cores to the setup, both mine were leaking. Then again to fix up some other niggling wiring issues. Nice to see the progress! Cheers ToranaGuy
