OK.
Have been doing a couple of odds and ends over the last couple of weeks. You may recall that I am now using a Silver and Black Steering wheel. I found a centre ring the other day, and it tidies up the look of the wheel nicely. I will be removing the previous Cruise Switch Bracket soon, and have another idea on how to implement the Cruise. More on that in the future. ****************************************************** I finally got around to hooking up the EL Cruise Control. I had installed the module and run my custom looms when the dash went in, but I had not spliced it into the Steering Column loom. This is now done, and the Cruise is now WORKING. About time too. I believe I previously mentioned that I had hooked up the cable extension from the EL cable to the Log Manifold Throttle Body. I have not connected the clutch switch cancel yet, and will have another look at that soon. ******************************************************* When I installed the driving lights, I hooked them up to come on with High Beam. Due to the mounting position, in NSW, the lights are deemed to be 'Fog Lights' and therefore must be able to be switched off. Soooo, I finally got around to wiring in a switch. YAY!! I have wired the lights up so that they can be off completely, can be triggered by the Park Lights, or can be triggered by the High Beam. I wanted the switch to be within arms reach, but out of sight, so I mounted it beside my Thermo Fan Override Switch. Fan Switch Now with Driving Light Switch Can't be seen from the drivers seat. Still easy to reach. ******************************************************* I also picked up these. The Tailgate is off Racedirectors EB Wagon, and the doors are off his EL Donor Wagon. I will be prepping and painting these over the next few months in Black Pearl, to be installed on my Wagon. I also have some ideas revolving around the door handles. I will advise as things happen. ******************************************************** I will be heading down to the ACT on Saturday morning to pick up an EF Factory Electric Sunroof. I will attempt to install this in the Wagon, so expect more updates as that mod progresses. Tomorrow I hope to be picking up a 'Performance Enhancement Device'. More news on that tomorrow. Cheers BenJ

Wel, the 'Performance Enhancement Device' is a bust. The cam I was looking at purchasing second hand suffered from a lot of pitting on the bearing and lobe surfaces. I elected not to proceed with the purchase.
Will consider other options now. Cheers BenJ

Hey Ben
I had a thought... if you want to practice cutting a hole in the roof for your sunroof, my EL will be here for another week or so. You are welcome to attack it if you want to Cheers RD

Short term, the bonnet will probably be the first thing I have a go at prepping and painting. It is at Dr SWCs and has undergone some minor reconstructive surgery, but is in the recovery room and the prognosis is all good. The area that NEED paint is, well, most of it. From a distance it looks ok, but up close there is a myriad of marks and scratches. The rear quarters will probably be next as I can't leave the primer on there forever. The paint will take a while to do. I will prep and prime all the doors and the tailgate as time permits. Will be the first time I have attempted this, so will be interesting. I won't be looking for a 'show' finish, but just want it to look presentable. Cheers BenJ

Oh yeah? I've found my thingy to work okay. Try it rigging your clutch up to push the DECEL or SET - button............! You can actually change gears with cruise turned on without doing anything...... It just sounds like a double clutch -- -And you have to change gear reasonably quickly before the engine revs its head off! |

Hope to get it down tomorrow but not looking good at this stage. |

Ben, how much do theese cams cost new? Because you where telling me about how you can get a new one fo $350 changeover, and the one you passed on for $100 makes for $450 (derr I know). My point is does it cost more than $450 for a new one?
