Well hey guys i'v been on ford mods awhile now becoming more active with the more money i earn lol.
First car was a grey/gunmetal fairmont still serving me well. Went out today and bought a 94 Burgundy ED Falcon, bit of a poverty pack but hey its got a t5 :)

So the plans are money and time and knowledge allowing, (ha knowledge that what i have you guys for :P) to take the interior out of the coon and transplant it into the fairmont. Sick and tired of electric windows plus the ed interior is still in bloody good nick the dash will be going in aswell, as it hasnt cracked or faded much. The louvers will be swapped onto the fairmont aswell, quite like the look of them. Also, probably the best mod will be to convert the mont to manual. Unlock the beast!

Money spent so far ? 700 bucks, god bless parts cars. Will update status on the cars build regularly. There are plenty more goodies i want to get but first things first eh.

Hey man doesnt mater if its a 'povety' pack lol, if you can fix up your fairlane and have a nice clean ride made with your own two hands the sentimental value is so much more.
Definately keeping an eye on this thread as sort of an inspiration for what I would like to do. Once I have finnished playing with my BA falcon I'd like to sell it and use the $$ to find an old AU XR8 (or two) and re-build it.

Good luck with the build mate

Started pulling the interior and dash out of the falcon today after i got home from course.
Quite easy really only had to consult the manual once! :P Then again i've only just broken the surface.
Started buy pulling out the plastic fascias (whatever you wanna call them) down the bottom of the footwell, moving onto the plastic cover around the steering column. Also removed the center console, instrument display and the two front seats. It's all in such good nick compared to the fairmonts interior (bar the drivers seat). In my opinion this falcon gl had a better interior then a EA Fairmont Ghia!

Cheers man alot of these things to me are what i would call functional improvements, manual windows means no failing electric motors, volt meter and oil pressure gauge will let me know if somethings going on along time before the idiot lights come on.

Hey a question guys the fairmonts got cruise control right, im planning on rigging something up like you did benj with your template around the wheel, you can still have cruise control on a manual ae?

Yes, I have cruise on my manual wagon.

I don't have a cancel switch on the clutch pedal like I should, so have to remember to cancel cruise with the brake pedal before changing gear.

Cheers

i belive eb series 2 onwards had smart lock.....not 100% unsure how to check when the car is dismantled
but when its all hooked up when its not on there is a red flashing light on the dash

one of the gurus will be able to confirm

as for the other ecu check out the
ECU and fuel fourm and at the very top the first stick will help you id you ecu just look for the correct catch code

Smartlock was introduced in Sept 92, so all EB11's onwards had it from then. Also came in at the same time as the remote central locking.

Earlier EB11's only had central locking and no remote.

Cheers
