I found a post from 2014 from JohnnyeHCF, which was asking for advice on how to remove the fuel sender from the fuel tank, together with a picture of the replacement fuel sender he got from the wreckers.

Shortly after the posted question in 2014, and before any replies were posted, Johnny indicated that he removed it.

I have been able to remove the fuel pump OK, but I am quite mystified as to how to remove the fuel sender assembly, so I can replace the float and sender mechanism. The tank was less 1/4 full of fuel, and think it might be necessary to completely drain the tank for easier internal access. Is this correct?

I hope someone who has done this job before, can help solve my dilemma.
