Yes, mirroring the MAP sensor wiring is correct, just don't wire in the TPS wiring like i did HAHAHA

I would just like to report that swapping the wires is a load of crock. I have spent days wondering why my car wont start swap the wires so they matched the original plug and it fired up straight away.

Okay, well i'm only going by what i've been told by reputible workshops and other members.
Send an e-mail to CAPA, they'll tell you exactly the same thing they told me, the plug must be changed and MAP sensor wiring for the conversion MUST be mirrored. I've also contacted BPT Motorsport about this very issue (as my car WILL NOT start either) and what they have said untill the N/A ECU is flashed with turbo parameters, it won't run, full stop. Hey man I wasnt having a go at you I was just hoping t osave someone the trouble who might be in the same boat and come across this thread.
What I have found is if you still have the standard ecu and the N/A map sensor in the motor the car will start and run fine it just wont boost would be a good thing to do to get you going so you don't have to tailor it a work shop. Can anyone shed some more light for me here my car runs fine now but when you give it to her it pops and carry's on, sort of like a little miss. Would this have anything to do with the flash tune? Its possible that the wiring when correct but not flashed will cause major issues as the values returned from the sensor are out of the expected range and probably run pourly if at all.
Now if the sensor is disconnected or mis-wired then the ECU will recognise this and ignore the signal and run with an internal value rather than the actual therefor the engine will run but not optimum. Btw the wiring to the PIN numbers are the same between the na and turbo tmap however its the ordering of the pins that are are mirrored between the two.

I know that if you try and run a 2 bar in a std tune it wont run. I found that out

Thats sweet at least I have that part right now to fix the detonation/miss when on boost.

ok read through this thread and have some potentially stupid questions to ask?
(please be kind ) So if u wire in a ba xr6t 2bar map sensor, it won't start/run on a n/a ecu. 1.) Are you able to remove the sensor from it's connection on the manifold, and have it run/start just to limp/drive to the tuner? 2.) if you use a CAPA /SCT flashtune module, can you have it come with a stock ba xr6 turbo tune on it? once again so its able to driven to a tuner, to check timing/afr's etc ? |

Hey mate easiest way is to just wire in the 2 bar map sensor. Get a SCT flash box with any turbo tune. Run your own boost control and away you go. Unless you want a custom tune there is no need to take it to a tuner. That's how I did mine, I am just running a 10psi generic tune and it runs fine. Altho I would like to get a custom tune done but there is no real need for it.
