Hi all
I went to the wreckers the other day and picked out a ef/el xr6 300kpa fuel pressure reg for my new motor, only thing is that once home i worked out that the xr6 mounts totally different to the standard rail i already have?? so are the fuel rails different from std to xr6? or is it because i may hav got it from a el and trying to mount it to a ef rail? and or au regs and rails better again to the ef/el i hav done a fair bit of work to my new motor (no 9sec track burner) but alot better then standard so maybe my efforts are goin the wrong way just lookin to improve it overall but keep costs down. Any ideas?? STADIC |

that is bloody odd . I have an EL and it was a direct swap from a standard to an XR one...sorry I can't be of much help there.
Has the fuel rail been replaced before?

Top pic is a reg from a Broadband manifold (BBM) - fitted to EF/EL's.
Bottom pic is a reg from a log manifold - fitted to EB/ED's. Fuel rails are similar - injectors are interchangeable, but the fuel reg mounting is different, as are the regs. Someone confirm ???

Could it be due to it being a duel fuel car? (as per his ride description).
Only other explanation is someone had replaced it with an earlier E-series fuel rail.

My EB Fairmonts fuel reg is different again, similar to the top one in the photos, but doesnt have a screw thread, it is like the old hose over stalk style filters from years ago.
