G'day everyone,
I have just fitted a 200kw tickford engine and it is running fine,
loving the the extra power so far.

I am looking at tuning options to get a bit more out of it,
My mods are;
-200kw engine (gt40p heads)
-CAI (boxed in pod)
-exhaust (ELGT extractors, 2.5" x 2 cats, 3" exhaust

I have done some research so far but couldn't find anything about el2 xr8 tuning,
any help would be greatly appreciated..

Thank you

You can't go wrong with a TI Performance J3 Chip. It makes a big improvement and is "cheap as chips".

If you are happy to run 98 octane all the time, you should get significant gains from more ignition advance.

If you get the bug, and want to get every last kw out of it, do your own custom tuning:

With the tuning pack and a laptop, you can tune your fuel, spark, rev limit, etc. It has enough capability and resolution for anything short of a dedicated competition car.

for the v8, the best option is the moates quarterhorse, can tune on the fly, can data log.
no need to keep pulling the chip out to burn the tune like the normal j3 chips, heaps of support from us mustang guys and a few guys on aff have the strategy and calibration files for the Australian 50l..

I have one in my au xr8 and its fantastic to be able to just plug the cable in make the changes on the side of the road and off I go..

The EL V8 is supported so absoluetly go with a Moates Quarterhorse, wideband O2, binary editor & Sailorbob strategy file.

There is no comparison between a Quarterhorse and a J3 chip. The J3 chip only stores the tuning file, but the quarterhorse will allow you to tune the engine by giving you the engine data the ecu receives and calculates

Headline cost is up there, but worth it.
