Hey everyone. I just received 8 injectors from "EL XR8" and they came off his XR8 so that he could put some better ones one. Now i was wondering if these would fit my EL Fairmont? My friend said that they might not work and might even stuff up my ECU because the resistance is different.

cheers

i don't think they fit but i am not 100%

why did you buy these, you could have got 6 of the 4cl magna ones from the wreckers and had them cleaned. they are 24 lb from memory

i'm not saying they won't!! I have never tried but i don't imagine they would. If you are going to get a new set get the magna ones. They are made by bosch and are a direct fit with higher flow!!

Don't get bigger injectors unless you can tune them.
Chip or aftermarket ECU.

They'll work, but they will be injecting more fuel.
Unless you have got a fairly modified six, and are leaning out under power, they are of absolutely no benefit, and will just make your car run richer then it already does.

Phongus why do you want bigger injectors ? As has been said if you haven't got alot of mods and the capacity to tune they you're just going to be blowing more fuel straight out the exhaust, and who wants to do that at ~ $1.50/litre!

I'm still running stock injectors in mine and it's pulled up to 175rwkw without leaning out so you don't need bigger unless you're looking at forced induction. If yours are shagged just get them cleaned properly or replace them with the same.

i don't want to put bigger injectors in....i just wanted some stock injectors but EL XR8 (the person) said i could have his injectors off his XR8 but i wasn't sure if they would have fit.....but yeah now that i know they don't fit i have to find some new ones. i mean in the future i might put some more in but not now.

Thats right, i had them lying around, and i wasn't sure if they'd fit an EL I6.
Are the EL i6 injectors different to the V8's?
Cause i would've thought the 6's would've got the 19lb injectors too, or is it the EV1 type fitting thats different?

I would be very suprised if the V8 injectors are any different to the I6 injectors. They should both be an EV1 Bosch 19lb/hr with a jetronic connector.

What are the part numbers?

Thanks mate,

I'm not sure about the part number as i no longer have the injectors, Phongus does.
Thats kind of what i thought, that they would be the same type and size, as they're not the later 24lb XR8 injectors.

They could actually be less because there's 8 of them and the V8 doesn't really make much more power than the I6...

I hadn't thought of that, but i doubt that Ford would've changed injectors or these models, but they did it with the AU's that got the 24lb'ers.
Hopefully someone on here can confirm, if they should fit, so Phongus can use them...
