Yeah mate, like Steady ED said, go to Summit to find your part numbers. One of the easiest ways to go about getting a lot of part numbers is do a search for the parts you already have and when you select them, you'll find a tab for "Suggested Parts" where you'll find a set of 5 intake to egr gaskets with part number FMS-M-9464-A50 and intake gaskets of varying port sizes. Here's the link... http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... 700+300623

Once you've got all your part numbers, it'll pay to add all the prices up and send them an email with the part numbers to get a quote on freight. You'll probably find you'll save at least 20%, if not more. It only takes about a week to get most stuff if they've got it in stock.

As for pushrod length, you will not know until the rockers are on, and the all bolted up. Best to get an adjustable pushrod to get the exact length.

Hmm that would be the way to go i spose, surely you should be able to work out what lengh you would need though. seems a waste of time, putting it all together to find out what length you wil need. I dont know, not sure on this area, alot is going over my head.

Quote:
I would dummy fit your rockers to the heads and then try on your chrome rocker covers and see if there are any issues there before you start.

I dont think there should be a issue, the rocker covers i have are taller than the stock ones, and they were dummy fitted on a 393 with afr heads. shouldnt be a prob, but i shall check it all out before hand. try to eliminate most of the f**k ups before they happen.

Cheers scaffy, i went from your link, and it all started to make sense. Its just a matter of working out what parts go with what etc... im half way through the list, i will post it all up when im done.

And thanks to brett, barnacus, steady ed, and everyone else, been a HUGE help in sorting all this stuff out. When/If i see you all, i owe you a beer :D

Cheers

BEN

Just one thing I think a lot of guys here might have missed in the list of things to get.

Since you are replacing your cam, and unless you are going to get your lifters shaved, you should get new lifters. Your old lifters will be "worn to the old cam". Don't want to go stuff the new cam up, eh.

New cam = New lifters.

Biggish box from summit cost me 180AU, express air freight.
All your stuff should easy fit in that size box.
Just email them to get quote first to be sure.

As for valvesprings, I got the Trickflow "stage 1" kit they are bolt on for ford iron heads, include retainers, locks, shims, valve stem seals, and a little rod to check installed height.
That was like 150 AU from memory.
I dunno how they will go with 2030 though, you might want to get heads machined for a decent spring, maybe doubles, while they are off?

Roller lifters have that, rollers. The only thing that would wear is the cam, not the rollers on the lifters.

On another note, make sure your cobra manifold will clear these rocker covers.

cant shave roller lifters? Roller lifters should be fine to use with a new cam but it's always good to replace as they could be near the end of thier life if stock i.e. worn needle rollers in the lifter could cause you grief if they go walkies etc.

They are marginal for coil bind, and the spring rate is too low.

There you go
Lucky I'm only running them with stock cam!

I've just got Trick Flow valve spring upgrade kit which cost me US$194.95. Here's the link, I don't know if they'll fit your application or not. I'm sure someone will be able to tell you.

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... 0+&FROM=MG

Also, on the lifters, when my top end got pulled part, my stock lifters fell apart as they were pulling them out and that was on a motor that had done about 180,000km. Something to think about.

Whoever quoted you on the head gaskets from Ford must have the crackpipe out... NO WAY that they're that much.

Drop me a PM if you'd like some prices. ;)

f**k... that's unreal... How can they justify that? Or did they quote you to change the head gaskets?

You can throw in a 3/8" phenolic spacer to stop that from being a problem.
