I got this car quite a few years ago and loved it untill the sad day when i hit a kangaroo which pretty much written off the car untill a few months ago when i started to fix it up again as its still one of my fav cars to drive

before the crash the car had the following mods done
ED Fairmont Bonnet, grill and head lights
EB/D C pillar covers
EB2 XR6 Boot, Boot Lip, Garnish and tail lights
EL XR6 Diff and rear breaks
EL XR6 sway bars
Kings Superlow's
EL GT Rims
Cat Back 2&1/4 sports exhaust
EF head with a EL XR6 Cam
working BBM
EF/L Thermos
Black trip comp and a few other gadgets

New plans with the car is to fit a eb front, rebuild the bottom end, port the head, repaint the car in gloss black, custom exhaust, all suspension rubbers replaced, new ball joints, slotted rotors and better pads, ED front lip, and im sure i will add more to the list

will get some pics as the build goes

Oh cool.

For some reason though, i prefer the EA mirrors to the EB/ED mirrors as they arent the flat s**t look.

been busy yesterday and today as the girl friend is over in Thailand

i have pulled everything out of the engine bay apart from the wiring but that can wait until the dash is out, picked up a front guard, eb bonnet and a few little things i needed to fix the damaged from the roo and sitting in a paddock for 2 years.

Image

I started on the motor stripping the EA motor and the EL motor i had laying around to use the crank out of the EL with the almost new AU pistons in my EA block to keep the same engine number as the EA motor was making some pretty bad noises (broken piston) it turned out to be.

So since the block was in pretty bad shape i choice to get a AU block from advice on here. So now having pulled down the AU motor and stripped my EL head to be ported and have bigger valves put in (thanks dad) :) Tomorrow im going to try find some new bearing and a ring set for the au pistons which the 3 part shops i went to for some reason cant help me with so any help there would be
great

hopefully I can start the body work soon

well thanks for ready
cheers
Jason

was watching my dad doing this thing with porting the head and got bored so i choose to pull apart the BBM which i found out the butterfly's don't open all the way so i pulled apart a spare one that was in dads workshop and that's the same as well so I made some adjustments so it can open fully

here is a pic of the butterfly's not fully open

and one of my dad busy porting the head
