I am changing the tailgate on my EL S/wagon, due to someone needing 3 feet to stop but only having 2 feet, but cannot seem to get the wiring separated . Is it a plug and socket fitting or part of the main loom which will mean a slice and rewire job. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

not sure what you mean :?: but the wiring in the tailgate to be removed needs to be unplugged from number plate surround & wiper, rear window brake light, speakers then unplugged from connectors on the right 'C' pillar & a couple on the left 'C' pillar if i remember correctly? however if it has been squashed you may have problems getting it thru the tailgate body [to the left & right of the glass]. be carefull of the body connectors at the top near the hinges. DO NOT break the plastic clips. will also need to disconnect the spray nozzle hose too.
