Ok so I need to replace my badly yellowed headlights and since I
can't afford genuine Ford ones I am looking at the cheaper aftermarket ones.

I see that there are two makers of the headlights both TYC and DEPO however
I have been told that DEPO lights have problems with the spread of the beam and can blind oncoming traffic.. Wouldn't this be a simple fix by having the headlights adjusted and if so how can I do this?

Would like to hear thought on which is the better if any aftermarket headlight..

Thanks in advance..

Edit, sorry meant to say its for my EL Fairmont

if it's just the yellowing then polish it out for now, autosol metal polish works well.

I have a set for my EF Fairmont, they fit perfectly and everything works. It was quyite simply plug and play. I have had no issues since they were fitted

I put in a set of TYC ones on my EL, perfect fit, except in mine the low beam is too low, or if the low beam is adjusted up, the high beam is too high. Took them apart and it seems I'll have to mod the low beam shield that stops the low beam going too high. Definitely worth the money for them though, you will love the nice, clear light on the road, plus it makes the car look a ton better too.

Try restoring them with this method..
http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/sho ... -idea.html

It is super simple, very cheap, very good, and lasts for ages.

100watt globes? They wont work without adding another power source and relay to them.

they were 55watt plus 100, meaning they were supposed to put out 100% more light with no more power, they weren't 100watt

Powerwise, you can still run 55w low beam with 100w high beam.
The cct breaker will handle it.

Key thing to be aware is the reflectors are known to overheat from 60w+ high beam power. Having said that though I've run 100w highs on my cars for a few years now without incident. Something to monitor though if you do it.
