Hey all.

The airbag warning light came on last night in my BA XR6 Turbo.

I think there was a series of warning beeps the first time, but I didn't notice the light till later on in the drive.

Now, upon start-up, it double-flashes ten times, then stays on solid.

Bit of side info: at the same time (last night), when I jumped in to start the car, one of the driver's seat mounts came apart/broke (the front left bolt; there are four bolts underneath the cushion frame which secure the seat to the rail connector mechanism) - and the seat can now rock slightly on it's mounts because of the one broken mount.

I'd rather not take the car in to Ford for a diagnosis - over here in NZ they charge effing moonbeams even just to plug the diagnostic in. Can't really afford it.

Anyone got any ideas before I start pulling things apart? Any help much appreciated.

check the airbag connection on the seat, it may have unplugged when the seat moved, if it does not have an airbag, there may still be a blanking plug that has come loose.

If you have access to an OBDII Dongle, plug it in and use FORSCAN (free) to read the car for Codes. Should tell you what the ABS Code is.

I literally just wiggled all the wiring connections, and the fault disappeared.

It's re-appeared again (when I moved the seat/the seat wobbled on it's broken base) but at least I know what the issue is now and how to fix it.

Thanks everybody.
