G'day all,
I've searched and searched but can't find a thread for my issue!
I have a BF XR6, and I have this annoying, constant, consistent squeaking noise. It appears to be coming from passenger side air conditioner vent, but it's one of those sounds that is really hard to pin point! (could just be my old ears!). The noise starts as soon as I turn the key to accessory. Still there when everything is turned of, and continues when the car is started...
Is there a belt somewhere that engages when the key is turned?
This is driving me crazy, and any help I get would be appreciated like you wouldn't believe!
Cheers, Mick

My guess is there is something like a leaf caught in the ventilation / AC fan.
I'm not too sure on the B series, but with my EF the fan operates on setting 1 whenever the AC or recirc is switched on regardless on if it is off at the switch.
I'm basing my guess solely on the location of the sound, the fan for the AC etc is located behind the glove-box. And again, not 100% sure on the B series, but on the E series it is a pain in the a** to get at.

Thanks Esteven8...I can't actually believe that you were 100% spot on! I pulled off some trims, and got behind the vent cover, and there, just flapping in the breeze (so to speak) was the offending squeaking leaf! When I found it, I almost looked over my shoulder to see if you were hiding somewhere, laughing!!
And just so you know, not much of a painful task to get behind the vent cover.
Thanks again...Sanity restored!
