So i spent my sunday, among other things, finally replacing a stripped odometer sun gear in my XG's sports dash cluster.
To do this job, of course i had to totally remove the instruments to strip it down. Incidentally i also replaced a water temp sender (sensor for dash temp gauge, not ecu) and thermostat. Thats it, though i did lose a bit of coolant i did my best to ensure the distributor didnt get a green bath. Now that i want to start up again everything has power as per usual, with no blown fuses. Battery voltage seems normal though i did have the door open pretty much the whole day with the int. Light on. Trying to start the car gives me total silence. Not a single noise coming from anywhere. is there a reset process that can help me? I read something about leaving the key in the ignition on ON position for a while but it was fairly vague info and seemed to be ef/el series predominantly. And yea, i did a search on this for about 45mins . It wasnt much help somehow, even though it seems everyone asks the same things |

I got called out to a breakdown once....car wouldn't start....that's all the info I got before going out to it.
I got there, it was an EF sedan, looked at the shifter to see it in Reverse....shoved it into Park, and whaddiya know, it started. Easiest call out ever......

HAHAHAHA Ill save you some pain and tell you that one day, years ago, the old man and I worked on the rear brakes of my 260z. We found a big problem and repaired it and I was so keen to see how well the car would stop now I jumped in, threw it in drive and accelerated.. Wasnt moving. Checked everything i could and after few attempts, realise it was still on the jack. Yes we do all have those days. |
