Hey guys I was driving yesterday when all of a sudden my car just switched off. After doing a quick test of everything spark fuel etc etc I realized the fuel pump wasn't priming when i turned ignition on I put a test light to the pump wire and i had no power so I ran a straight wire from battery to fuel pump and it switched on. I checked all the fuses and replaced the relay and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas what this could be has me absolutely stumped.....

have never missed with an EA but a quick look at the circuit diagram show the FP relay fed by a fuseable link from the battery.
early ea the brown/green wire goes to eecm the straight red wire feed injectors and distributor. late ea the brown/green wire goes to eecm the straight red wire feed injectors and distributor. Black/yellow feeds fuel pump all you can do is trace the wireing and work out where the problem is, double check relay and check voltages on all the wires, the fatest wires will be the power in via fuse link and the other one will be the pump wire |

Have you got your problem sorted?
I have seen broken exhaust pipes, especially at the back tip, melt the wiring harness that goes to the fuel pump.
