I was wondering if it possible to use a ba flipkey instead of buying a remote and key?
{DESCRIPTION} I own a ford au falcon series 2 xr8 sedan. I have recently broken the remote for the car and was wanting to upgrade to a flip key if possible. |

Very doubtful... The flip key was later BF's wasn't it?
The AU runs a smartshield immobilisation and the BA/BF run the next generation up from that... That's for the key part at least... So you'd have a flip key and even if the remote worked, the key wouldn't... But I doubt the remote will work... Though never tried and happy to be proven wrong... Borrow a mates and try to pair it to your car? The remotes are easy to pair and unpair... Cheers, Tim

It will probably work.
I'm not 100% sure yet, but it appears that the AU/BA/BF/FG Falcons all use the same transponder chip, which is a 4D60. There are listings on eBay for key blanks that will fit both AU and BA: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ford-AU2-3-B ... 500wt_1118 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-TRANSPO ... 385wt_1026 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-FALCON- ... _500wt_885 This would imply that both the transponder and the actual key blade are the same across both cars. Didn't see any flip key listings that specified for AU as well though. Check with some sellers before ordering one. |
