checked fuses/relays plus removed some relays. when using [hitting] either a/c or heat front window button/s i get what sounds like the compressor being turned on & the motor changing pitch/revs. i wasn't able to get any responce from the fan, however i was able to get what sounded like the internal doors moving [in dash]
currently looking at a switch someone has fitted, it controls a relay behind the interior fuse box - some of the wiring there has been cut & routed thru the relay?? pics soon[ish] |

ok
so i checked out the switch cable tied to the steering column...... is connected to a relay again cable tied to the wiring on the back of the interior fuse box {DESCRIPTION} switch is in the background not sure what the red wire is on the right .... but when disconnected cutout the running motor & cc ? what is it? when i connected the switch properly with 3rd wire the fan/controls worked .... kinda!? everything appears to work except the various fan speeds ... only have the high speed working any ideas on the high speed only?? |

all au Fairmont and ghia s1 to s3 use the same auto fan control module.
normally when they fail it bridges power to fan puts it on constantly, there is a chance that your one might have been bypassed? check behind your glove box and see if the fan motor has been unplugged from the module or has new wires going to it? |
