Hi guys, both of my wagons transmitter keys have stopped and not sure where to start?
Assuming the BEM is the culprit as recommended I picked up a new (s/hand) BEM (mid series) to replace but too scared to attempt in case it goes bad! Somebody else has sais plug it in and leave it for over an hour but this seems too easy!! Doc's talk about resetting using keys already familiar to the "new" BEM but as this is a second from wreckers, I dont have any keys familiar to the new BEM !.... Gets a bit hayzee from there! Any ideas keeping in mind I'm about to leave for a working trip using the car tomorrow.!. David |

I had this happen on my AUXR8 went to lock the car & both remotes didn't work so i just reprogramed them & they worked fine. Just figured the BEM had a hissy fit......

Turn on ignition (not start) press demister 3 times within 5 seconds "doors locks should cycle " now press & hold remote until door locks cycle again ,switch off ignition & ur done test remote (eb-ed uses boot release button not demister ) ps it might be acc not ign "try both...
Uhm, anyone care to remind us how to reprogram the BEM??!! |

Thanks for your help guys, I'll try this and see how it goes otherwise its off to get sorted with I'm sure expense involved!!
The author of the BEM document in the library described this module as being "psychotic" which made me laugh! I will return with a verdict shortly! Dave |

Well.... Checked fuses and wiring connections to BEM...All good!
Tried re-learning keys as per instruction.... No good! Dont know what to do now! Replaced batteries in both keyfobs.... Didnt need to! Went and got a BEM but am told by mechanic that it needs to be reset and associated s**t done to it which will take atleast 3 days to complete by a joint that obviously grows their own money tree at the rear! OR I can take it to FORD dealer and be raped! What next? |
