I have a BA XR6 where the ignition is over returning shutting the car off, was wondering when they fixed these issues in the BF did they fix it in the early BF models when the BA and BF keys were similar or later when they changed the key shape.
If early will the BA barrel fit the early BF column?

so .... if i get this right..... your BA XR ignition switch has developed an internal fault where it comes back too far when you let go of the key?. grab a BA/BF column & swap the key barrel. make sure back of switch is seated correctly & not loose. if ya feeling really adventuress on the back of the switch ... carefully look for the 'tabs' holding the back of the switch in, 'lightly' hit that tab so it holds a bit betterer. don't hit it too hard. possibly use the BA & early BF column as i'm not sure on the internals of the key barrel section. i have a BF with BA key, altho not sure if key barrel only was swapped or entire column.
