BA MkII Door Locking Problem,

My BA has just started having this problem
When I go to lock it either via the Remote or by the Key the locking mechanism cycles through but cycles back to unlocked all the time.

I replaced the drivers locking actuator about 3 or 4 months back.

Unfortunately I do not have any of the books or manuals for it to try and work out what is going on or at the moment I do have the energy (laid up with the flu)

Any help will be much appreciated thanks

I know I sound like a broken record but it might be an idea to check the wiring connections in the door and where the harness meets the A pillar. Did you replace the doorlock/actuator with a new Genuine Ford one? If you got a second hand one OR a repaired one it may be the problem. The NEW Ford one comes with a new connecting harness for the lock as the original harness will not mate to the harness in your door.

Also, do the other door locks work?

Ok it sounds like all door locks are cycling through when you go to lock the car.

I noticed today that the door light on the dashboard is on whilst all doors are closed.

The door actuator/door lock was a refurbished one from ebay.

Matey, I don't wish to be rude but this is a trap buying those remade ones.
I know a NEW lock is pricey but at least you wouldn't be wasting so much time and effort with that other one.
A NEW lock/actuator is BAF F21812 A and you will need a patch harness BAF 14A584 AMC, about $170.00 for both new.

Im suffering the exact same problem in a 02 Futura. Car cycles the locks with remote or key, except all actuators have been replaced with actuators straight from Ford with the patch loom. Door open light is on on the dash. Where else should i be looking?

BCM would be the next choice.

I had the same problem and it ended up being the boot lock, there was water in the crevice and keep playing up.
