1.5= 01/06/99 to 29/02/2000, that is when Ford changed the Ignition switch to the later AUII/III type.

As far as fitting a later BCM, you can't.

High Series BCM AU I Olive Drab in Colour from 98 to 31/05/1999
"""" """""" """"" AU 1.5 Yellow in colour from 01/06/99 to 29/02/2000
"""" """""" """"" AU II/III Pink in colour from 01/03/2000 to end.

thanks for the reply papa smurf, so that means that my AU which is an 06/99 Falcon 'S' comes under the AU 1.5.

Yes, your Ignition key should look like an AUII/III BA/BF type with the communication chip in the end of it.

yea the ignition key is the one you described, also just wondering in one of your previous messages you wrote

Does thaty mean that the BCM in my AU 'S' is a High Series one.

so if that is the case then would i be able to transplant a complete dash i.e cluster, switches, climate control and under dash wiring harness from a fairmont and just plug and play as such or would there be some problems.

If you get the equivalent model it should be ok. Just remember if you are using the Fairmont centre dash part you will need a few things off the heater.

As it stand, if you have a Tacho the change to a Fairmont style cluster would be straight swap without having to change the whole dash pad and wiring.

I have only seen the mobile phone cable in XR6, Ghia, Fairmont and Fairlane. Most wiring is similar EXCEPT the radio wiring. It IS similar but not same.

I have an au 8/99 with a gray BCM whats the difference with the others as its a ute ?

Have to replace the BCM due to problems with it not resetting to program the fobs and its coursing the locking moduls to jam in the drivers door when turning the key to unlock.
