Lost power earlier so I rolled off the road. Started up again, I havn't found a lot as ETC is found as an abbreviation for et-cetera. As the computer has seen a fault I am thinking the accelerator module may be the cause. How do they come out and has anyone seen intermittent failures with them ? I am thinking of swapping another in.

What are you calling ETC?

The light on the dash is ETC, and the owner's manual calls it " throttle ( acceleration system ) fault indicator " When I Googled it I ended up on Whirlpool and some were saying traction control. Well, I don't have that and my Ute is Gas. Been OK since, but it shouldn't happen as even a one off. I don't like the idea of losing power at a bad time or getting stuck.

See if you can borrow a scan tool and pull the faults.

If it is the pedal, they just unbolt and unplug the wiring (plug and play).

If it is the throttle body, just grab a used one and toss that on.

Either is a simple change.

Thanks for the replies, I rang a Gas place, and they cant fit me in for a while. In conversation, the bloke said to check all earths as it may be related to a voltage drop. ( as a one off problem ) Well, a battery terminal was loose, so after tightening it I am hopefull the problem is gone. A solid fault, at least you know it is fixed. I will still get a spare set of position senders just in case though.
