Hey everyone =]

I recently aquired a new XH ute (a nice shiny one at that too.). I swapped in my other taillights from my last XH and I never encounted this problem before. Heres what happens, when the lights are not on and someone puts their foot on the brake the lights are dim like if you had turned the lights on.

however when you put the lights on, they are as bright as bright can be and putting your foot on the brake pedal does nothing to make them brighter.

I only bought the car yesterday and had not driven it at night so I was unaware of the problem until about 20 mins ago.

the only conclusion I can think of is that somewhere the feed wires have been switched to the wrong side (if that makes sense to anyone).

Its pretty rainy where I am at the moment so it was just a quick dash out and change them jobby but im really stumped I have an idea I just dont want to be pulling this car apart so soon to fix something that might be so simple its staring me in the face.

Thanks heaps everyone I know you are all more experienced than I am and I value all your input =]

incorrect globes, led's or they've been put in reverse (large filament on the parkers and small on the brake)

just go buy some new globes.

I was not aware there was a right or wrong way to put them in.. and they are coloured bulbs designed to be used for the taillights I have so its just a matter of simply putting then in the right spots.

I will see if i take them out and put them in the other way works (ill just 180 the holding pins on the side) and see if that does anything

EDIT:
BAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH! BAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAH!!!

boy is my face red BAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAA well... It would seem in my rush to get it done I did not put the bulbs in properly bahahahahaahahaha

well thats my fill of embarrassment for the year i think bahahahaha
