My climate control display occasionally breaks up. ie When the temp is set for say 18 degrees it reads 8 degrees. Other digits lose part of their complete numbering. Is this a climate control electrical problem or could it be ECU related?
I am able most times to reset the dispaly by holding in the off button and the fan directional button atr the same time, however the display shortly breaks down again.
I can live with this as the a/c works perfectly as does the fan and the air direction.

Thanks for a quick response, Troyman. Any suggestions as to where I should start looking or doing?

Joy. Changed one of the tiny bulbs and the problem has disappeared.
The only downside is that I already changed all the bulbs 2 months ago.

There are actually alot of places that recondition them and sell exchange units.
Its a common thing on those lcds. Im a bit sceptical that changing a globe would have been the cure .
But if it starts working. Good luck. :P

However the display has now been faultless for the past 5 weeks.
I really am asking for trouble posting that...

The liquid crystal display settles when they go faulty. What you have done is shake it up when you removed it. I had a similar issue with the odometer on the EF, when the weather got real hot and the car the car sat for time in the heat the display would only show on the bottom half, when the interior cooled down it was fine. Put up with it till the point that the day didn't need to get real hot so i changed the cluster.

the mrs fairmont does the same thing depending on weather, some days its perfect, other days there are half digits missing, sometimes whole numbers..

drive the car the next day and its all good again, sometimes its good for a few days, sometimes weeks...
we are just use to it.lol,
everything works and its never bad enough where we cant work out whats going on...

I guess its like anything, its a matter of learning it.
Mind you I've been trying to understand my pool cleaner for 5 years and it still puzzles me.
