Hey guys ! so ever since i got my BA , the dome light never turned off. no matter how much i pressed the button on the icc it wouldnt do anything ! ! so i added my own switch...

now the other day i noticed i wouldnt turn on from the switch like normal but instead from the actual button on the icc but instead the light would dim when locking the car and turn on when unlocking the car (door opening didnt affect it ). and the button did work at turning it off then on ..

so today when driving the light turned on and wouldnt turn off again ! i dont know why and cant seem to fix it !

why is it that it refuses to work ????????

sounds like its got a wiring short somewhere. quite possibly the drivers a pillar area - ive seen a couple there,

i went and looked at the harness and pulled old the good old test light. i was only getting power at 1 of the 3 wires that were there. i got it with the light on and off (from my home made switch). but i didnt get any power from it when the harness was unplugged.

any ideas ??? also any suggestions on how to fix it ?

if i remember correctly the dome lights have 12v all the time. it is the earth (or -) which the BCM uses to switch the light on and off.

Hmm so where would the problem be coming from ? ill check the voltage meter tomorrow hopefully
