Can anyone offer a suggestion on how to rectify an ECU fault code 522 (Neutral Drive Switch fault). I have done a T5 manual conversion to my 1997 EL Fairmont Ghia 4.0Ltr. Neutral and reverse switch wiring is sorted and working. I'm thinking that because the other wiring plug is not being used is the cause of the code 522 NDS fault. Is there some way of rewiring the now unused wiring connector to rectify and eliminate the NDS 522 fault code? Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Did you plug it into the wiring loom or use resistor to trick the ECU? I can't remember for sure, but I did not connect the neutral switch on the manual box to the loom, instead I just used a resistor to trick the ECU it is in neutral. If you used the resistors, did you use the correct ohm value? Refer to fordmods-technical-documents-diy-f38/auto-to-manual-conversion-guide-t42420.html

I found the wires for the neutral switch in the loom to the transmission and connected them to the neutral switch on the T5 transmission so that it will only start in neutral. Is there supposed to be a resistance value in the circuit when it is closed. As it is at the moment with the neutral switch there wouldn't be any resistance in the circuit when it's closed (in neutral). If the neutral circuit is supposed to have a set resistance what value resistor will I need to add to the circuit?

From the thread I posted above thanks to snap0964

(Sorry to cut in Dave)
