Ok so its the smartlock plug im looking at so what should i do join 25 and 18 even though there not the right colours or is there another way to bridge it from some were like the ecu? I have no idea why this plug is different this is my first ford i am a holden man and i thought id take a chance on the fird name maybe i was wrong

take a pic of the plug if you can..
it has to be done at the smartlock module as there is a starter in and starter out, the smartlock module is the switch..

check for voltage at pin 25 while trying to crank the engine, if there is 12v while trying to crank and no voltage when not cranking i would say the pins are the same just the wires are different colours...

just curious, what is your ed? gli, fairmont , xr6 ect????

with the car fully off dose it flash if so when,u turn the key onto accsesories dose the smart lock light stay on for like 5 secs?

yea the pic worked...

did you test pin25 while turning the key to crank to see if there is any power?..
another thing you could do is look at the wires that goes to the starter relay to see what colour they are...

my whole starter curcuit (engine crank) from relay through the loom to the smartlock module and to the ignition switch is all red/blue...

Hi having same problem with my 94 fairlane it won't crank over but turn accessories on run a wire from batter with button to starter and it will start have tried the relays nothing are u suppose to bridge pin 18 an 25 to start it or just test them with voltmeter unsure or any other helpful tips and if I keep the button how would I solve problem of slow crank
