Hi everyone,

I have disconnected the battery for about a day to give it a charge on Fairmont EF 1994 model and after that few things stopped working;
1. remote entry not working (car horn beeps 3 times after remote is pressed)
2. can't open boot or fuel even after pressing buttons on the dash
3. can't lock or open the doors after pressing button on the dash
4. after starting beeps constantly for about 1 minute

Checked the fuses, all good, there are no red lights on the dash cluster. Is anyone able to help please

Maybe try leaving the accessories on for an hour for the ecu to reset. Did that with mine to stop the hazard lights from flashing when I disconnected the battery

Hey ship0_1150, thanks for reply. Do you mean to leave the key in accessories position for an hour ?

You don't put the ignition on accessories to reset the ECU. You discconnect the battery for an hour of more to do that.

What you are suggesting is resetting the BCM. You also don't do this by setting the ignition on accessories. Correct procedure is a s follows,

Turn off all accessories, radio, lights, etc.
Put down your drivers side window.
Turn the key to reds and wait, do not turn anything on in the car.
Process will take 30 to 60 mins.
When the BCM process is complete the door locks will cycle twice.
Turn the ignition off and then start the car.

OK, tried both suggestions, does not work. I have read somewhere that remote can be affected by not having a bulb in the dome light in the car. Is this possible?

I have removed the bulbs because it does stay on and drains the battery, probably faulty door switch or something, I will try to fix it soon.

try remove bem fuse then refit while operating remote works sometimes - recheck all fuses with test light - test swap a bem and check boot - fuel release -doors from dash buttons before programming anything
