Hey guys,

I need some urgent help. I removed my ignition barrel fine, the problem that i have is that the inside part (when the key barrel goes into) rotated and popped out. Now the problem is that i cannot get the barrel back in. How do i reset this part so that i can re-insert the barrel?

Basically the inside returned back to the 0 position and is now not in the I position.

Thanks

Down inside is the laser and the mirrors which is the smartlock... If it falls to bits then as far as I'm aware it's over and done with... You'll be looking for a replacement barrel...

When you remove the barrel you have to be careful to not cause the inside to fall out... Yet to see one go back together and work...

Unless someone else on here knows more than me?

Cheer,s
Tim

Can someone please confirm this? if this is the case, then i will just rip out the whole barrel and bypass it all together. Can someone please confirm?

not going in a street car?

If so I'd be doing away with the barrel where possible... The connections on the back come loose eventually and having push button ignition would be more reliable... Just need a smart lock bypass...

Cheers,
Tim

well don't bypass anything... Find a good second hand barrel and get two new shear bolts from ford and swap it over... Be super careful when to remove the barrel to fit the column shrouds...
