EL falcon aircon switch won't pull in the electric clutch on compressor, I have put a live wire to the clutch at the compressor and clutch pulls in.
I think it maybe the relay,My work shop manual has a heap of schematic wireing diagrames but I cant follow it(I'm75 and eyes are just about shot like the rest of me, lol.) can someone tell me where the relay for it is? Thank you |

Pretty sure that the EEC module pulls the compressor clutch in without a relay... There is a relay for the fan motor to bridge out the resistor block... I can't see one in my Ellery manual either...
Fair chance if it isn't coming in then you have low/hi gas pressure which isn't allowing the circuit through... (In your case low pressure)... The is a switch screwed into the side of the TX valve at the firewall... Check for a circuit through it... If you have a circuit then you have gas... If that switch is open you need to see an aircon shop to have it checked for leaks... Chances are something is letting gas out and that's why it wont engage... Cheers, Tim

Ahhhh... Just thinking... There is a WAC relay which kicks the compressor out when you flatten the throttle too... Not sure where it is on EL... Probably in the fuse panel under the dash... If there isn't a circuit through it when power is applied to the coil then it wont work either...
Cheers, Tim

air cond. WAC relay is mounted at cabin end of battery near ECU & FUEL PUMP relays(green and brown plugs) remove cover - from memory 2nd relay in from O/S guard .....there are other possibilities however gives some where to start..... is your system standard or climate control
